The discovery of historic markers is one of the jobs rewards.
While surveying near Camelback Mountain, in Phoenix, we had the option
of using several convenient markers or hike the mountain for a quarter
corner section marker set in 1889. Despite this job coming in mid-June,
we chose the more challenging and historic marker. After a 3 hour hike,
past the 'ear' of the camel, and over the camel's 'nose', we were able
to find the historic stone marker, and with this, accurately determine
and set our clients' property corners.
